What is your first name? Jimmy
What is your occupation?
Well, as far as the Internet goes (I don’t have a real life job yet), I have helped to develop websites. At first I found myself programming games, but that didn’t please me enough. Finally, I took the time to learn HTML, CSS and more, and then I started to develop websites. I found it to be extremely fun, and soon people wanted me to work for them!
What is your Answers.com username and how did it come about?
I’ve always thought about what sort of nickname would describe me, as I believe that a name should describe a person. I chose Soulcist, because of the darkness and light of my life. This name suited me perfectly!
I was born and raised in Georgia. It’s a permanent home for me, and I hope that I will never have to leave because all my memories have made me love this place. Quite frankly, the place where I live is not a tourist attraction, but it is where I belong and feel at home.
How did you discover Answers.com?
I was working on homework questions a few years ago, but I never understood what Answers.com offered at that time so I didn’t bother with it. Finally, one night I saw the badges, and people’s contributions, and I wanted to be a part of it.
What enticed you to join our community?
When I first registered, and started to contribute, people welcomed me extremely well, and they showed me what I needed to do in order to become successful. This community is certainly why people should join this site.
What is your favorite thing to do on Answers.com?
The fact that I have the power to help this website and create a better place makes contributing to it my favorite thing to do! This includes removing vandalism, editing questions to make them more appealing, editing answers to make the grammar better. It helps to improve my own grammar, too.
If you were inviting someone to join Answers.com, what reason(s) would you give that person to become a part of our community?
I would say that our community is amazing. There are very nice people here who are willing to help others. You don’t see a lot of that around the Internet nowadays. Another important thing is that a person feels much better about him or herself because of the help given to others on the site. You can make a real contribution on Answers.com, just as you would in any other situation!
What accomplishments on Answers.com are you proud of?
I’m proud of all the time I’ve spent on Answers.com to make sure that the categories that I supervise are as clean as possible. One of my best contributions was to clean out 300-400 flagged questions in ‘Teen Dating.’
It’s challenging to remember so much at a time (guidelines, procedures etc.). It takes us time to practice and learn the things we need to remember, but in the end it’s certainly worth it!
What life accomplishments are you proud of?
It would have to be school. I had problems in school after one of my family members passed away. I can now say that I am very close to graduating from high school. This time has been a pleasure and I will thank my teachers in the future for all they’ve done for me.
I would love to be a polar bear because these creatures seem very passionate about their children, just as I feel very passionate about friends, family, and my girlfriend. I want to take care of them every step of the way because I know that they need me as much as I need them.
I love rock. To me it is the most emotional type of music out there (the deeper depths of rock anyway), and I can most certainly relate to it. As far as my favorite artist, it would have to be Marilyn Manson. This man has shown people what it’s like to be different in the world, and has taught people to be themselves and not to listen to others, or be concerned about what they think of you! I honestly can
say that he’s helped me through a lot of rough times when listening to his music.
Who is your favorite poet?
If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?
I would wish for the following:
- That my grandmother would come back at least for 30 minutes and tell me she loves me and give me one more hug before I have to wait to see her up there.
- That my girlfriend will lead a peaceful, happy life.
- That I will get a job so I can help to provide for my family, do things for myself, and feel even more accomplished.
Do you view the glass ‘half full’ or ‘half empty’?
I’d probably have to say both. We all experience a time in our life that makes us feel that nothing is there for us, and others where we feel that everything is there. Quite frankly, it’s up to us to create the path.
You can only pick one: banjo, butterfly, or babbling brook. Which would you choose and why?
What are you most passionate about in your life?
I would honestly have to say my girlfriend. Her dedication, love, and care have really helped me through some rough times.
Who or what is your inspiration in life?
My grandmother is my inspiration, completely and utterly – no question. She helped me through so much when she was still on this Earth. She showed me different views on things and it helped me to work out the kinks and twists in my life as I grew older. She will always have a special place in my heart.
