Ilovecatz1234! And Yep!

This week the spotlight is on a young, bright minds – Ilovecatz1234. A cat lover (wouldn’t you know) and an power user, Ilovecatz1234 discovered the community when looking for answers related to school. Although she originally used the site for fun, she soon became a Wikiholic and was hooked from there.

Read on to learn more about this Super Star… Meow! (couldn’t resist)

How and when did you discover

I have been a user since October of 2009. I stumbled upon looking for answers related to school. I found some very good answers. I decided to become a member, just for the fun of it. I didn’t intend on being here long, just to see what it was all about. I answered some questions, but not to the best of my ability, not thinking I’d be here for long. I later became a Wikiholic and learned about Community Roles. My participation has simply skyrocketed from thereon out. I intend on staying.

Do you have any pets?

As you may have guessed, I love cats. I have one furball of energy and his name is Sparkie. He is a 10 year old orange tabby who loves a good nap, a nice bowl of food, and a long string of yarn.

Where do you live, how long have you lived there and why do you like the area?

I live in a town very near to DC, in Northern Virginia. I love the town, since it has both modern and historical aspects. Whenever we’re bored on a weekend, we hop into the car and go to a Smithsonian or a park in DC, which is about 30 minutes away. I have lived where I am now, my whole life.

What are your key areas of knowledge, interest or expertise?

I am still in school, so I haven’t really learned about all life has to offer. I do know I am very good at science, in particular biology and astronomy. I also like learning about the elements. I am also an expert at cats and cat care.

Do you have any collections or hobbies?

I have many hobbies. My favorite is playing soccer. My friends tell me I am a new person on the soccer field, and I have been playing for practically my whole life. I love to draw as well as paint flowers and scenery; landscapes. I am a serious book worm, and a lightning fast reader. I am Barnes & Noble’s #1 customer. In my free time I like to do, bike, read, etc.

What are a few random facts about yourself?

I have been to 12 states in the US. I play the piano, but not Beethoven material unfortunately. My favorite colors are neon green, turquoise, and pink. I have never sprained, twisted, or broken any bone, despite my soccer. My favorite restaurant is Chipotle.

What are your special goals or dreams?

I aim to become ophthalmologist when I ‘grow up.’ 🙂 I also would like to aim to be a Ruby Contributor in the future. (distant future) I would love to win first place in soccer tournaments. (near future) Next, I aim to continue my straight ‘A’ streak. Wikiwise, my second goal is to reach 100 Trust Points.

How would you describe yourself or personality?

I am an athletic, friendly, nice person. Friends describe me as smart, kind and wise. I think myself as a person who aims high and tries to smile/laugh when appropriate. So, smile!

What is your favorite activity?

My favorite activity is answering questions. Ranging from humorous to Astronomical, I like answering with a wide variety of answers. I put my best possible knowledge into my answers. I also like monitoring the Recent Site Activity and editing questions.

Neila222: Charismatic, Caffeinated, WAY Cool!

Here’s a riddle for you: What goes goo goo for human-sized dolls, spends starloads of bucks on yummy java concoctions and has more charisma than a Wal-Mart Greeter on New Year’s Day? It’s not a what, it’s a who! It’s Neila222!

If you haven’t had an opportunity to meet this dynamo of a lady, Neila is a member of the Community Development Team. Part of the time, she is a diehard Community Assistant and the other part she is totally rockin’ it as the WIT Program Coordinator. When she’s not busy on, Neila can be found supporting her favorite band, the Goo Goo Dolls, spending time with her beautiful children or picking up her favorite coffee-inspired drink at Starbucks.

Check out the interview we did back in 2007… and read on to learn more about this charismatic, caffeinated, way cool chicky-poo…

What is your user name on

Neila222 – It’s my first name plus my birthday (February 22). I should take this opportunity to mention that cash and Starbucks gift cards always make great birthday gifts.

How did you first learn about the site? When?

I learned about the site in 2004 back when it was FAQ Farm, before it joined the family. Does this make me an old-timer? 🙂 I was pregnant with my daughter at the time so I couldn’t move around much. RoyR, my father-in-law (and Senior Supervisor on WikiAnswers), talked so much about FAQ Farm that I decided to check it out. Luckily for me, they were in need of assistance. Supervising and editing several categories kept my mind and fingers active!

What is your role on and what does it entail?

I am lucky enough to have a double role at I am a Community Assistant as well as the WIT Program Coordinator.

In my role as Community Assistant, I do whatever is necessary to keep the site in tip-top shape. A few of my daily tasks include tracking analytics of popular questions to make sure the most viewed questions have the best answers; seeding and answering current events questions; vandal monitoring; and evaluating merge requests. I’m also ready to tackle whatever comes my way, whether it is helping with category creation or assisting in judging contests.

As WIT Program Coordinator, I work with teens on the site to find productive ways to channel their knowledge and energy. Currently, the WIT Program has almost 300 members, and it is continuously growing! I work with each WIT member on an individual basis to find missions that interest them and help improve

What is your favorite activity on the site? Least favorite?

My favorite activity is answering questions on some of my favorite topics. If I need a “break” during the day, I’ll head over to Music, Movies, Soap Operas or Scattergories and answer a few questions. My least favorite activity is dealing with vandals on the site. It just bugs me that people can’t find more productive ways to contribute. It bugs me more that I can’t cyber-smack them.

Do you have a favorite category? Most despised category?

My favorite category is Bands and Recording Artists. I love music, as you can probably tell by several of the categories I supervise (Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, The Fray, Pink, Bon Jovi). My least favorite categories are Football and Justin Bieber. Sorry, for you sports fans and Bieber-lovers. I don’t know much about football. I like sports, but basketball is more my thing. I have tried to get into football, but I just don’t find it interesting.

And what is there to say about the Biebs? I’m just not a fan. It doesn’t help that he has been way too overexposed. I can’t turn on the TV without seeing the teenage moppet!

Aside from, what do you like to do for fun? Hobbies?

I love music! My favorite thing to do in my spare time is attend concerts of my favorite bands. I attended 10 concerts last year and traveled to three of them. I took my children to their first two concerts last year, and we all got to hang out with our favorite band. (Hopefully, this increases mom’s coolness factor.) When I’m not attending concerts, I love mystery novels (when I have time to read) and scary movies!

Name one thing not many people know about you.

I have a birthmark shaped like Justin Bieber on my right hip . . . no, I’m just kidding. 🙂 I love to write, and I used to have a mommy blog! I blogged every day for more than three years. I started the blog after my daughter was born. It was very therapeutic! I stopped blogging when I went back to work full time (and the kids got older) because I got too busy to keep it up, but I am still friends with a lot of other bloggers whom I met during that time.

You’ve just been hired to a promotions position at a major food manufacturer. What would you put in a new breakfast cereal box as a gimmick?

My first thought to attract adults was cold hard cash. That’s right, put money in the box. It can be anything from a penny to $100 bill! Kids, however, might think a little differently. As the mom of two young kids, I have found that my children are fascinated with things that light up or glow in the dark. So, I’m going with a light-up spoon. The spoons would be available in several colors so you can collect them all. It would also help if the spoons have popular characters on them. I’m thinking SpongeBob and Disney Princesses!

What article of clothing most closely describes your personality?

Definitely my “concert” jeans. I have a pair of jeans that I love to wear to concerts. They’re a little bit stretchy, so they’re extremely comfortable. They’re strategically ripped, so they look cool, but they also have – dare I say it – flare! They’re adorned with sparkles and sequins! They’re awesome! Comfortable, cool, awesome, with flare! Does that describe me? Hmmm. . .

Any final words about the site? Your role? The community?

I’ve been on the site (FAQ Farm, then for more than six years now, and I have really enjoyed seeing how much it has grown. I think we have such an awesome community of wonderful people who are extremely intelligent and very friendly. I have made a lot of great friends over the years through Plus, I believe our site is the greatest information resource on the Web. My favorite thing is that I learn something new every single day! (I recently learned that the ‘G’ in the Green Bay Packers logo stands for ‘Greatness.’ Who knew?
